Asteroid 1998 OR2

Asteroid 1998 OR2 is a huge mountain sized asteroid that will pass near the Earth in the end of the April. It is one of the 22 potentially hazardous asteroids known although it does not seem to be a danger as it is not expected to collide with Earth in its close approach this year because the distance between 1998 OR2 and the Earth will be 3.0 million miles. It has a diameter of 1.1 miles  and 2.5 miles and it can be observed through a small telescope under dark skies.

NEELUM VALLEY: Neelum Valley is located in Pakistan it ‎ is a 144 km long bow-shaped thick forested region in Azad Kashmir. It is named after the Neelum River, which flows through the length of the valley   The valley is situated in the north-east of Muzaffarabad, running parallel to Kaghan Valley. The two valleys are only separated by snow-covered peaks, some over 4,000 meters (13,000 ft.) above sea level. The valley is connected from Muzaffarabad by Neelum road, which leads up to Kel. The road condition from Muzaffarabad to Athmuqam is very good and suitable for any kind of transport. From Keran to Kel road condition is not well and not suitable for low floor vehicles. In winters road onward Keran is blocked due to heavy snowfall and it is very difficult to reach upper parts of the valley. Vans service is only available from Muzaffarabad to Athmuqam after every 30 minutes. Buses run daily between Muzaffarabad and Kel in good weather. Jeeps and horses are available to reach...

astronaut

Image
An astronaut is the one trained to serve as a crew member of a space mission.Usually this term is also used for a person who travels in the space. Starting in the 1950s up to 2002, astronauts were sponsored and trained exclusively by governments, either by the military or by civilian space agencies. With the suborbital flight of the privately funded  Space Ship One  in 2004, a new category of astronaut was created: the  commercial astronau t t he criteria for what constitutes   human spaceflight   vary. The   Federation AĆ©ronautique Internationale   (FAI) Sporting Code for astronautics recognizes only flights that exceed an   altitude of 100 kilometers (62 mi) .   In the United States, professional, military, and commercial astronauts who travel above an altitude of 50 miles (80 km)   are awarded   astronaut wings . As of 8 June 2013, a total of 532 people from  36 countries  have reached 100 km (62...

dimensions

Image
This article is about dimensions of space. For the dimension of a quantity, see  Dimensional analysis . For other uses, see  Dimension (disambiguation) . From left to right: the  square , the  cube and the  tesseract . The  two-dimensional (2d)  square is bounded by  one-dimensional (1d)  lines; the  three-dimensional (3d)  cube by two-dimensional areas; and the  four-dimensional (4d)   tesseract  by three-dimensional volumes. For display on a two-dimensional surface such as a screen, the 3d cube and 4d tesseract require  projection . The first four spatial dimensions. 1 Two points can be connected to create a  line segment . 2 Two parallel line segments can be connected to form a  square . 3 Two parallel squares can be connected to form a  cube . 4 Two parallel cubes can be connected to form a  tesseract . In  physics  and  mathematics , the  dime...

state of matter

In  physics , a  state of matter  is one of the distinct forms that  matter  takes on. Four states of matter are observable in everyday life:  solid ,  liquid ,  gas , and  plasma . Many other states are known such as  Bose–Einstein condensates  and  neutron-degenerate matter  but these only occur in extreme situations such as ultra cold or ultra dense matter. Other states, such as  quark–gluon plasmas , are believed to be possible but remain theoretical for now. For a complete list of all exotic states of matter, see the  list of states of matter . Historically, the distinction is made based on qualitative differences in properties. Matter in the solid state maintains a fixed volume and shape, with component particles ( atoms , molecules  or  ions ) close together and fixed into place. Matter in the liquid state maintains a fixed volume, but has a variable shape that adapts to fit its container. It...

heat

Image
In physics heat is transfer of energy in transfer other than as work or by transfer of matter. When there is a suitable physical pathway, heat flows from a hotter body to a colder one. The transfer results in a net increase in entropy. The pathway can be direct, as in conduction and radiation , or indirect, as in convective circulation. Heat refers to a process of transfer between two systems, and system of interest, and its surroundings considered as a system, not to a state or property of a single system. If heat transfer is slow and continuous, so that the temperature of the system of interest remains well defined, it can be described by a process function. Kinetic theory explains heat as a macroscopic manifestation of the motions and interactions of  microscopic constituents such as molecules and photons. . In calorimetry sensible heat is defined with respect to a particular state variables of the system; it causes change of temperature, leaving that particular ...
