FORESTS OF PAKISTAN

Ziarat is the biggest juniper forest in Pakistan . It is believed that the forest is the second largest of its kind in the world. The juniper tree species found there are of global significance because of their advanced age and slow growth rate. It is located in a province of Pakistan ,Balochistan . The juniper forest ecosystem of Ziarat provides a habitat for endangered wildlife species and supports a rich diversity of plant species . It has a number of species including : Suleman Markhor ,  black bears , foxes and wolves. 
Forests Provide to stream and wetlands, providing greater habitat. Their root system allow more water to infiltrate the ground. Their canopy can intercept up to 50% of rainfall. A forest floor in a rural or exurban forest retains 3 times more water than a grass lawn. And trees can remove 50 to 300 gallons of water a day through evapo transpiration which is the movement of water through a plant from roots to leaves.
